Research Description: Dr. Cecille Labuda is a faculty member in the Physical Ultrasonics group which was formed at NCPA in 2002. The primary thrust of the group is the physics of ultrasonically mediated phenomena. Biomedical applications of ultrasound is a secondary thrust. Our physical ultrasonics work includes the study of structured materials (acoustic metamaterials and micellar fluids), signal propagation in heterogeneous and dispersive media, and the physics of acoustic cavitation.
