Research Description: Dr. Gary R. Gaston is a Professor of Biology. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the field of benthic (bottom-community) ecology, and is an authority on the taxonomy, trophic biology, and physiology of marine benthos. His recent research focuses on tropical-coral reefs. Dr. Gaston has directed several Honor's projects in which students traveled to Belize to collect data, then returned to Ole Miss to analyze data and write their theses.
