Research Description: My research focuses on mass and elite political behavior in the United States. This encompasses public opinion, voting, political participation, and political psychology. Additionally, much of my research examines how gender shapes the behavior and opinions of individuals in the United States. For example, I am interested in how and why men and women identify with the major political parities and how that identification as changed over time. I also have several research projects that examine how gender influences the likelihood of women running for elected office.
