Survey to Determine the Need for an Epilepsy Support Group

Project Description: This project would be to first survey of the student population to determine the need for an epilepsy support group on the University of Mississippi campus in Oxford. This survey would be followed by a series of in-depth interviews to determine the format and discussion topics for an epilepsy support group. Participants should be instructed their interest does not have to be based on their epilepsy but their experiences (roommate or family member with epilepsy). The student would be mentored by Drs. Erin Holmes, Patrick Pace and Meagan Rosenthal.

Desired Student Qualifications: Motivated with an attention to detail. Student should have CITI training.

Project Timeline: 18 months

Duties of Student Researcher: With guidance the student will develop a survey and in-depth interview questions, process the survey and interviews through the IRB, put the survey on Qualtrics, retrieve the survey data and analyze it, and conduct, transcribe, and analyze the interview data.
