Key Words: philosophy of religion, science and religion, environmental philosophy
Research Description: My primary research interest is in the relationship between science and religion. This includes scientific arguments for the existence of God, specifically the argument from cosmic fine-tuning for life (of the constants of physics), but also from "intelligent design" in biology. I also have written on scientific, and particularly evolutionary, explanations of religion and religious experience. I could direct a thesis on any topic in that realm, as well as any thesis on the relationship between philosophy and religion more generally. I also have a secondary research interest in environmental philosophy, including risk analysis applied to environmental decision-making ("The Precautionary Principle").
