Research Description: Areas of Interest: 1) Alternative Energy Systems such as solar power for heating and cooling systems, Waste to Energy systems for power generation and mitigation of green-house gases. 2) Design of light-weight composites using natural fibers from plants. These eco-friendly composites can replace plastic-based components in various applications. 3) Mechanical Design of composite panels and structures that can survive high impact from shock-waves or collision. Blast, Shock, and Impact Dynamics. 4) Experimental testing of composite panels under blast and impact loading.
