Research Description: Zeiras research agenda explores the sources and dynamics of political conflict and violence in the context of the Middle East, with a focus on the political attitudes, identities and behavior of ordinary individuals during times of conflict. Her book project investigates the logic of individual participation in political conflict and violence using original survey and interview research on the Palestinian national movement. Other projects include a field study examining the effect of international recognition of statehood on conflict attitudes among groups engaged in self-determination struggles, as well as a new study assessing the impact of family law on women and girls in the Islamic world.
